Texans impacted by April 26 - June 5 storms may be eligible for FEMA's help to repair or replace car
Thousands of Texans whose vehicles were damaged by the flooding during the storms between April 26 and June 5 could be eligible for FEMA assistance to repair or replace them.According to a release by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, its financial help covers expenses not paid by insurance or other sources.SEE ALSO: Hurricane Beryl Recovery Fund launched after storm devastates 68,000 Harris County homes"The damage to the vehicle must have been caused by the disaster, and the vehicle must no longer be operable or safe to drive. Cosmetic repairs will not be covered," FEMA wrote.Some other conditions include:Assistance is usually limited to one vehicle. Gas station clerk killed during robbery in southeast Houston
HOUSTON – A Houston gas station clerk was shot and killed during a robbery on Wednesday morning. The murder occurred shortly after the employee opened the gas station located at 6600 Mykawa Rd. in southeastern Houston. The incident was reported at 10:55 a.m., and authorities said the victim was already dead when they arrived at the scene.
Lineman working Hurricane Beryl restoration arrested for severely beating coworker in Texas
A 24-year-old lineman working to restore power from Hurricane Beryl has been arrested in Texas for beating another lineman, who is in critical condition. Galveston police responded to reports of a man lying on the sidewalk in the early morning hours of July 15. The man was found and appeared to have been struck repeatedly on his head and face, police said. The injured man was not identified, but police said the two men were staying at a nearby hotel.
