Another Texas migrant aid group asks a judge to push back on investigation by Republican AG
EDINBURG, Texas (AP) — A prominent aid group along the U.S.-Mexico border asked a Texas judge on Wednesday to push back on a widening Republican-led investigation into nonprofits that help migrants, weeks after a separate court rejected efforts by the state to shutter an El Paso shelter. Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley provides temporary shelter and food to as many as 2,000 migrants a day when border crossings are high. In recent months, the nonprofit and at least three others in Texas that help migrants have come under scrutiny from state officials following a directive from Republican Gov....

Controversy Surrounds Texas Hiring Schloss from Texas A&M Baseball – Aggies Successful Recruitment Impact
It’s actually pretty impressive that a university with such a developed network of media members has managed to bungle the narrative surrounding hire of their rival’s coach so badly. When it first came across everyone’s timelines that Jim Schlossnagle was headed to Texas, the Longhorns seemed content to be smug—until the situation with Richard Zane’s question at the presser blew up in their faces. Facing a media blowback, Texas attempted to swing the idea that Schlossnagle was a sympathetic figure. That also did not work. There’s little doubt that the public narrative surrounding Schloss’s departure has had a deleterious effect…
