Top-35 prospect Sebastian Williams-Adams planning visits with Kansas, Texas A&M and UConn
By SAM LANCE NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Class of 2025 four-star power forward Sebastian William-Adams is in talks with Kansas, Texas A&M and UConn for official visits, he told ZAGSBLOG. “I haven’t scheduled any yet,” Williams-Adams said. “But I know I’ve talked with [them].” The talented forward has already unofficially visited Kansas and Texas A&M. He has also been hearing from Purdue and Auburn. He broke down all of these schools: Kansas: “My mom’s from Wichita, so Kansas in kind of home. And I’ve been up there on an unofficial visit. Everyone’s the same in his [Bill Self’s] eyes, it doesn’t matter. As long as you’re a college player he’s going to give you his all. You know, he holds no punches. So I really enjoy that about him. And I really admire that because he’s going to treat you like you’re the worst player on earth or the best player on earth. He gives you compliments, when he compliments you, it’s a big thing. So I just really liked seeing that, especially when I was on my unofficial.” On the unofficial visit to Kansas: “It was a game where the students had all left campus and it was against Yale. No offense to Yale, but it’s not like one of their big rivalry matchups. So I was just expecting a bit crowded, like the lower levels not the upper levels. But no, they packed that down. The alumni came back, all the people, donors, they came back. And they were all chanting ‘Rock Chalk, Jayhawk!’ And the Phog? I actually was like, ‘I would hate to be on the opposing team because I just know you can’t hear nothing.’ It was literally just a basketball filled place. They like live and die as Jayhawks so that was really amazing to see.” Texas A&M: “Since my freshman days, they’ve been in contact. They actually saw me first here at Peach Jam when I was 15. So ever since then its been kind of a building relationship. They always sure they keep in contact and they always make sure I know that I’m wanted there. Coach Buzz [Williams], I just like their hard nature of basketball. They get after it. They go and get rebounds. Their players they all are really committed to winning. They don’t really care about their role. They just all locked in. A lot of times they’re David in the Goliath situation and they always somehow manage to pull out the win, so that’s really nice about that school.” UConn: “I told you earlier I like winning. I hate losing so much. So the act they’ve won two national titles back to back, they’re aiming for a the third in a row. I mean that just, to me, speaks volumes about their program. The fact that they’re able to keep players, even if they’re not playing the most. They still brought them on the team trying to win. And like I said they develop pros and win championships, that sounds like the best of both worlds to me.” Purdue: “Ever since USA I worked with him [Matt Painter] when I went to the trials, and he and I have just kind of developed a bond. We have a lot of similar interests. He’s just kind of always made sure, he knows he came in my junior year, but has been making sure that he makes up for lost time. Making sure that I know I’m really wanted at Purdue. To have him consistently show up for me and tell me, not just on the phone, like ‘I’m there for you. I want you here.’ But to actually see him in person and he’s constantly reassuring me that he wants me to be there. So that’s really nice to be supported like that.” Auburn: “Yea coach [Bruce] Pearl, he’s a high energy guy. You know, 6:00 in the morning he’s going to give you his 100% same as 6:00 in the night. So just having that type of energy and just that kind of vibrant personality has kind of like drawn me towards him. Not to mention they develop a lot of similar guys to me, especially in the forward position. So definitely having that at Auburn and him being a main component of that is really interesting to see.” So far at Peach Jam, Williams-Adams has contributed 11.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game for JL3 Elite while shooting 52.4% from the field. He describes himself as a two-way player. “You know, very versatile forward,” Williams-Adams said. “I can bring the ball up when our point guard is out, rebound, get out, push it, just kind of a do it all type of player.” Williams-Adams is ranked the No. 35 overall prospect in the 2025 class by 247Sports. His favorite NBA player is Kawhi Leonard and his favorite artists is Tyler the Creator. A hidden talent of Williams-Adams is that he can play the Clarinet. “I had to quit because I couldn’t make any of the band concerts and stuff like that, but yea I was really talented at that back in the day,” he said.
