Federal Inflation Reduction Act sets aside $575 million nationwide on prevention work. Thanks to a new federal grant, New Jersey’s communities will have $72 million to help build flood-resilient structures. The grant, funded by the Inflation Reduction Act, totals $575 million nationwide and will give New Jersey the third-largest piece of the pie compared to other states. Leaders gathered in Perth Amboy on Friday to deliver the news; Perth Amboy’s waterfront, which was devastated by Superstorm Sandy, was rebuilt with the help of federal dollars.
