Monday’s Weather At Your Fingertips
East Texas (KLTV/KTRE) - Here is the Weather Where You Live... An upper-level trough is likely to remain in place over the central U.S. over the next 5 days. This will allow for rain chances to be fairly high through Friday. As we get into the weekend, High Pressure will build in from the East...dropping our rain chances from very good to just slight by Sunday and Monday. At this time, the chances for strong/severe thunderstorms is low, however a few general thunderstorms will be possible each day bringing in brief, heavy rainfall and gusty wind. Rainfall totals over the next 5-7 days appear to be in the 1.00″ to 2.00″ over the northern half of East Texas and closer to 2.00″-3.50″ over the southern half of our area (Deep East Texas). A stationary front is expected to remain over East Texas for a few days allowing a focal point for this rain. After mid-week, we are likely to see more “Sea-Breeze” type rain with most of it being over Deep East Texas, however, many are possible over northern areas as well. Some flash flooding will be possible just about any day this week, so please remain alert to this possibility. Temperatures will remain well below normal through the next week as well. Our normal highs for this time of year are in the 94°-96° range...so we stay cooler and wetter than normal into the weekend. Have a great day and remember those umbrellas.
