Some storms this afternoon and evening followed by cooler temperatures next week
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A slow-moving cold front is currently working its way across the Tri-State this afternoon and evening. The front will bring the chance for some scattered showers and storms, primarily along the Ohio River and points south into western Kentucky. While the threat of severe weather is low, the Storm Prediction Center has placed a level 1 out of 5 risk for severe storms from Evansville down into Western Kentucky. This means only a few storms may develop severe characteristics. The main hazards with any severe storm that may develop will be heavy rainfall and gusty winds. Temperatures this afternoon will hang out in the mid to upper 80s. Showers chances will lessen after sunset due to the loss of daytime heating but a stray shower or storm overnight can’t be ruled out. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 60s.

If you recently purchased a six-pack of "Great Value" brand apple juice at Walmart you need to make sure it's not included in this recall. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is recalling nearly 10,000 cases of this specific apple juice due to elevated levels of arsenic. Yikes! Don't worry, it's classified as a "Class II" recall, meaning it's unlikely to cause serious health problems. Still, better safe than sorry!
Cooler and drier condition on the way
CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Saturday morning may have a stray shower or storm; otherwise it’ll be humid with warm lows in the low 70s under partly cloudy skies. Saturday afternoon will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. The threat of severe weather is limited, but strong storms are possible with impacts of strong, potentially damaging wind gusts, heavy rainfall and frequent lightning. Saturday won’t be quite as hot, but it will still be warm with highs in the mid 80s.
