Baltimore County sees drastic drop in homicides, shootings
TOWSON, MD—Officials this week announced that Baltimore County has continued to experience sharp declines in homicides and nonfatal shootings over the first half of 2024. Baltimore County has reported a 31% decrease in homicides and a 30% decrease in nonfatal shootings through July 2024, compared to the same time period in 2021. Officials say this is a significant milestone in the county’s efforts to reduce violence and make it a safer place to live.
2 young men arrested in armed robbery involving gun, baseball bat in Glen Burnie
GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Police arrested two young men Tuesday and are searching for others in connection with an armed robbery in Glen Burnie. Anne Arundel County police said the victim reported the robbery to police late Tuesday night, saying several men dressed in all-black clothing approached him, demanding money, in a shopping center parking lot in the 7300 block of Ritchie Highway.
