City of Tacoma Commences 2024 Grit City Trees Program
The city of Tacoma is now accepting applications through Sept. 2 for this year’s Grit City Trees program as part of its campaign to reach 30% canopy coverage by 2030. Grit City Trees has provided 1,867 trees to Tacoma’s community since 2016 and puts an emphasis on developing community tree planting in Priority Planting Areas, which are neighborhoods identified as "moderate," "low," and "very low" opportunity on Tacoma’s Equity Index, a release from the city said.
