WVU finds ways to get Farmer involved at receiver: 'He's going to earn some playing time if he continues this'
For the second straight year, preseason eyes are on a four-star recruit working his way into West Virginia's rotation of receivers. What's similar is not the same, though. A year ago, Rodney Gallagher made the short trip to town and had to transition from his high school duties as a defensive back and quarterback to become a full-time receiver for a Power 5 team that needed Gallaghers brand of potential. This year, Ric'Darious Farmer trekked from Melbourne, Florida, where he had about 3,000 career receiving yards and earned a pair of all-state honors, including a first-team spot for the state champions in 2022. WVU has more to offer at receiver now than a year ago, but Farmer is naturally further ahead than Gallagher due to his prep path.
