National unemployment continues to rise, but Killeen is unaffected
While the number of Americans filing for jobless benefits nationwide hit a 10-month high recently, claims in Bell County decreased slightly. From June 2-8 in Bell County, 209 people filed for jobless benefits, according to a report released by the Texas Workforce Commission. It is a decrease compared to the 226 that submitted a claim for benefits the week prior and a slight rise over the 205 per week average the county has seen over the last 10 weeks.
