BELMONT COUNTY, OHIO (WTRF) – The man charged with the shooting death of another man outside of the Francis Wallace Apartments in Bellaire was back in court via video, asking for a lower bond.

21-year-old Brian Melott has been in the Belmont County Jail under a one million dollar bond since the murder of 19-year-old David Allen in April.

Today Judge John Vavra lowered the bond to $250,000. If Melott posts bond, he would need to be on house arrest with GPS electronic monitoring.

For security, the address of the residence where he would be staying will not be made public.
When he was in court last month , his attorney said Melott and his family members had received death threats.
