The West Palm Beach VA Healthcare System (WPBVAHCS), in partnership with Mission United, United Way of Palm Beach County and Guardians of the Glades, is pleased to announce its upcoming Summer Vet Fest.

It’s  scheduled for July 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lake Shore Civic Center, 1224 SW Avenue E Pl, Belle Glade.

Doors open at 9 a.m., followed by a welcome from the Executive Leadership and community partners available for support and education.  Complimentary beverages and food will be served.

The event’s mission is to inform and support our nation’s Veterans, loved ones, and caregivers by showcasing a wide range of VA services and community resources available.

Those resources include employment resources, on-the- spot toxic exposure screenings, and the history-making PACT Act expansion.

The PACT Act expansion allows all Veterans who were exposed to toxins and other hazards while serving in the military, at home or abroad, to enroll directly in VA health care, without first applying for VA benefits.  This means millions of Veterans are now eligible for VA health up to eight years sooner.

The Summer Vet Fest is great opportunity  for veterans and their families to learn, engage, and connect with services tailored to the their unique needs within the Belle Glade community.

For more information, contact the West Palm Beach VA Healthcare SystemPublic Affairs Office at 561-422-8607.
