A Scott County teenager is accused of stabbing another local teen during a sixteenth birthday party at a home near Belle Plaine on Saturday.

Prosecutors in Sibley County on Monday charged the suspect, a 16-year-old from Jordan, with one count of felony second-degree assault, misdemeanor disorderly conduct and underage liquor consumption in connection with the incident.

The stabbing happened around 9:50 p.m. Saturday in the 16000 block of Belgian Drive in Faxon Township, about three miles from downtown Belle Plaine.

The Sibley County Sheriff's Office said the victim, who family members have identified as 16-year-old Marshall Buck, was immediately transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center.

The suspect was later arrested at his home and booked into the Sibley County Jail, the sheriff's office said.

According to the juvenile petition, the suspect and Buck were at a sweet sixteen birthday party for a mutual friend when they got into a fight, during which the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Buck.

A GoFundMe campaign created by Matayah Buck, of Belle Plaine, states her brother collapsed while attempting to walk to the house and was rushed to the HCMC, where he underwent emergency surgery.

"He had to have his abdomen vacuumed out from all of the bacteria and liquid that flowed from his stomach through his abdomen and then had to get stitched up," Matayah Buck wrote , adding he also suffered a defensive wound on his hand from blocking the knife and is working on getting feeling back in two of his fingers.

A second surgery was scheduled to take place Tuesday, June 25.

"We know there is a long road ahead of us, and with medical and court expenses the stress is building up," she wrote.

Doctors believe there may be a lasting injury to Marshall Buck's wrist, which took two puncture wounds and was fractured in two areas, according to the juvenile petition. Prosecutors also note the knife cut into his stomach, "causing his contents to spill out of his body and into his abdominal cavity."

The suspect is accused of leaving the party after the stabbing and discarding the knife as he left.

According to the petition, law enforcement later recovered the 4-inch blade knife.
