Construction blasting to take place in Bellefonte, delays expected

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Borough of Bellefonte is warning residents and drivers that construction blasting for a project is set to begin on July 22.

Blasting will be taking place at the site of the new Bellefonte Area School District elementary building starting on Monday. Wampum Hardware Company will be blasting several times a day from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. for approximately a month.

Before the blast, Wampum will sound off a horn five minutes before and then again one minute before. Once the blast is over they’ll also give the all-clear through an extended alarm.

Drivers may experience delays on Governors Park Road during the work. Wampum will be stopping traffic on that road before every blast. You’re advised to plan for delays or use another route.
