Schnucks recalls fresh ground beef sold at Belleville store

BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Schnucks Markets Inc. has recalled fresh ground beef sold at one of its Belleville locations.

In a news release, Schnucks is recalling 90/10 fresh lean ground beef produced and sold on July 29 at its 800 Carlyle Avenue store. The product has a sell-by date of July 30.

There is a concern that the ground beef may contain plastic wrap, according to a Schnucks spokesperson.

Customers who purchased the ground beef on Monday, July 29, between 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. can return the product to the Carlyle Ave. store for a full refund or exchange.

The spokesperson said this is an isolated incident and there have been no reported illnesses or injuries thus far. Customers can call the Schnucks Customer Care Team at 314-994-4400 or 800-264-4400 with questions about the recall.
