Joshua Melton, a Triad High School graduate of 2022, found joy in working as a graphic designer, drifting, dirt track racing, and spending time with his friends. In March 2023, Joshua tragically lost his life in a car accident. To honor his memory, his family and friends have organized this race.

Brooklyn, IL – Two Hurt in Auto Accident on IL Rte 3 at Canal St
Brooklyn, IL (July 21, 2024) – A child and adult were hurt in a crash that closed down Illinois Route 3 for several hours on Friday afternoon in St. Clair County. A car and semi-truck crashed in Brooklyn near the area of Canal Street and the McKinley Bridge. The child and adult were airlifted from the scene. Illinois State Police also responded to the scene. However, they did not release any additional information regarding the crash or the severity of the child and adult’s injuries.
