Want to nominate an athlete? The BND Player of the Week highlights high school varsity football players who put in outstanding performances from the week prior to the opening of the poll.

If you want to suggest someone to be included, send an email teschman@bnd.com. Please include the athlete’s name, school, class, position, and applicable game performance statistics. Coaches must be willing to verify information. To be clear, this poll is not scientific.

Isaac Ackerman, Triad, QB, senior

Ackerman completed 13 passes for 139 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Knights’ 37-22 win against Mascoutah. Ackermann also rushed for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns on 17 carries.

Jaedon Beamon, Belleville East, RB, junior

Beamon rushed for 152 yards on 15 carries in the Lancers’ 36-10 win against O’Fallon.

Charleston Coldon, Althoff, WR/DB, senior

Coldon caught 5 passes for 116 yards and 1 touchdown in the Crusaders’ 54-14 win against Collinsville.

Ian Dempsey, Triad, WR, senior

Dempsey caught 5 passes for 81 yards in the Knights’ 37-22 win against Mascoutah. Dempsey had 1 touchdown as well.

Jayden Ellington, Althoff, QB, sophomore

Ellington completed 13-of-17 passes for 330 yards and 6 touchdowns in the Crusaders’ 54-14 win against Collinsville.

Dierre Hill Jr., Althoff, RB, senior

Hill Jr. rushed for 91 yards on 17 carries and grabbed 4 passes for 90 yards in the Crusaders’ 54-14 win against Collinsville. Hill Jr. rushed for one touchdown and had one receiving touchdown.

Kiethen Jones, Belleville East, WR, senior

Jones collected 105 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns in the Lancers’ 36-10 win against O’Fallon.

Keylan LaGrant, East St. Louis, LB, senior

Grant posted 1 sack and 12 total tackles in the Flyers’ 63-10 win against Belleville West.

Kendrick Lyons, East St. Louis, QB, senior

Lyons threw for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Flyers’ 63-10 win against Belleville West.

Tahjae’ Robinson, Belleville East, RB, senior

Robinson has 90 points, 1,456 total yards and is averaging 6.9 points per game. She is averaging 100.6 rushing yards per game and has 15 total touchdowns on the season.

Larevious Woods, East St. Louis, RB, senior

Woods rushed for 139 yards and 3 touchdowns on just 12 carries in the Flyers’ 63-10 win against Belleville West.
