Early voting is underway in Illinois, and metro-east residents looking to make their voice heard ahead of the Tuesday, Nov. 5 presidential election have options on where to go.
The Land of Lincoln offers same-day voter registration along with early voting, so if you miss the Sunday, Oct. 20 online registration deadline, you’ll need to bring two forms of identification when you go to vote Nov. 5.
If you’re not sure whether you’re registered or if your registration is up to date, you can use the state’s online voter registration database to check your registration status . The site will ask for your first and last name, birth date and ZIP code.
If you check your registration and realize some of the information is out of date, you can update it online.
Before heading to the polls, you can check out the BND’s 2024 Voter Guide for information about candidates running for office in southwestern Illinois.
