New discount retailer to hold grand opening event in Fairview Heights. Here’s what to know

The new Gabe’s store located at 10785 Lincoln Trail in Fairview Heights is set to open this weekend .

The West Virginia-based retailer announced that the new store will open 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, and that shoppers will “see the full conversion to Gabe’s” from Old Time Pottery. The new store will include an updated layout and “full range of Gabe’s deals,” according to a release.

The first 200 shoppers in line for the opening will receive a special gift, the release stated.

The grand opening event will include an appearance from noon to 2 p.m. by local radio personality Lern from 105.7 The Point’s Rizzuto Show , according to the station’s website.

Products at Gabe’s includes discounted apparel, footwear, home décor, pet supplies, groceries and more.

About Gabe’s

Gabriel Brothers Inc., parent company of Gabe’s Stores, acquired the Tennessee-based Old Time Pottery in April 2023. At that time, the acquisition consisted of 38 stores in 11 states, according to an April 19, 2023, press release .

The BND reported in July that Old Time Pottery, which opened in a former Target store on Oct. 1, 2005, held an inventory reduction sale to prepare for its transition into Gabe’s.

Operating hours for the store, located at 10785 Lincoln Trail in Fairview Heights, were not immediately available.
