Peoria Police say a 16-year-old male was hospitalized Friday night with a gunshot wound to the chest. According to a press release, police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1900 block of West Kettelle Street around 9:40 p.m. They found no signs of a suspect or victim at the scene.
Teen’s case for weapons possession moved to adult court
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — A weapons case against a 17-year-old Peoria boy was moved to adult court, the county’s top prosecutor said Friday. According to Peoria County State’s Attorney Jodi Hoos, Marshawn L. Smith, 17, was charged with several counts including unlawful use of weapons, mob action, and criminal damage to government-supported property.

15-year-old charged with attempted murder for Tuesday night shooting in Peoria
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — A 15-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm for shooting another teenager on Tuesday. According to the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office, the charges were filed in the juvenile division of Peoria County Circuit Court.
