WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (Bellingham Metro News) - Whatcom County has many of amazing small local establishments, with a particular focus today on the array of burger joints such as Fiamma Burger, Boomers Drive-In, Filling Station, Grants, and Underground Burger.

Doug's Burgers has emerged as a rising star in the burgers scene of Whatcom County. Currently Operating as a food truck-based establishment, Dougs Burgers has garnered positive attention for its fantastic quality and service, with locals highlightings its Fresh products, fresh tender patty, tasty special sauce and soft warm buns.

Their menu is very simple: In the variety of burger options, their signiture burger is "The Doug" featuring a combination of pickles, grilled onions, cheese, and burger sauce. Another choice is "The Classic" which includes lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, cheese, and burger sauce. For those preferring a vegetarian option, "The Veggie" offers a combination of a mushroom-rice-bean patty with lettuce, tomato, onion, and burger sauce.

The fries on the menu include the "Plain Jane," which, despite its name, are anything but the ordinary. These fries taste sliced to order, nicely seasoned. The menu also features the "Street Fries," boasting a unique combination of Sesame-hoisin, Sriracha, citrus mayo, peanut, and cilantro. For those craving even more, there are the "Queso Fries," crafted with homemade queso and garnished with a delectable topping of pico de gallo.

Prices currently: All Burgers are priced at $8.00, Plain Jane fries are $4, Street Fries are $6 and Queso Fries are $8.

OH, and They use LOCAL beef.

Today was my first time at Doug's Burgers following weeks of anticipation from reading peoples reviews online, and I must say, the experience surpassed my already high expectations. Today we decided to try "The Classic" burger, purchasing three, along with two orders of "Plain Jane" fries, amounting to a total of approximately $32, before tips. Despite the busy time of day, the wait was around 10 minutes, however, Doug's Burgers que-station operates uniquely. Instead of having customers wait outside in the cold, they provide a beeper or pager with the order number programmed into it, which notifies the customer when the order is ready for pickup. This allowed me the convenience of waiting comfortably in my car or for others, it could be at a table in the adjacent Beach Cat Brewing.

    WHERE IS DOUG'S BURGERS LOCATED?

With Doug's Burgers currently being a Food Truck based restaurant they are always on the go, but the good thing is their locations are usually very consistant and are within urban Whatcom County as most of the time they will transition between Beach Cat Brewing in Birch Bay, Portal Way Farm And Garden in Ferndale, or 211 E Holly St in Downtown Bellingham, but if you want to stay updated with their accurate weekly schedules, they post them on their OFFICIAL INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT (@DougsBurgers) or their website.

    IN CONCLUSION

I 100% recommend this place, and all I can really say is.. Try it for yourself. Doug's makes very tasty food, has friendly hospitality, and a great atmosphere for introverts and extroverts alike, and it is locally owned and operated. I hope to one day see a standalone Doug's Burgers location.
