BELLINGHAM, WA – The Whatcom County Sheriff's Office has brought out once again the iconic Crown Victoria patrol car, a beloved staple of law enforcement for over two decades. The agency showed off the vehicle, known for its durability and reliability, with a social media post captioned, "Patrolling with pride, our trusty Crown Vic is out and about, keeping Whatcom County safe and secure on this gorgeous day!"

The Crown Victoria, affectionately called the "Crown Vic," was a cornerstone of law enforcement fleets across the country until its discontinuation in 2012. Its replacement, the Ford Explorer-based Police Interceptor Utility, took over patrol duties. However, the Crown Vic’s legendary status among police vehicles has never faded.

"She's a stunner...and always ready to roll!" the sheriff's office proclaimed, reflecting the department's enthusiasm for bringing back the classic car. The decision to revive the Crown Vic, for a limited use at-least.. highlights the agency's commitment to tradition while ensuring the safety and security of Whatcom County.

The Crown Vic's return has sparked nostalgia among officers and community members alike. For many, it symbolizes a bygone era of law enforcement. The car's distinctive look and robust performance made it a favorite among police departments for over 20 years.

Though this may possibly be the only Crown Vic left at WCSO, I really Hope they order a fleet of them in the future, they are truly a beautiful sight to see on the roadway.

As the Crown Vic once again patrols the streets of Whatcom County, it serves as a reminder of the vehicle's enduring legacy in law enforcement history.
