Missing Man Found Dead in Carter County

CARTER COUNTY, Tenn — The remains of a missing man have been discovered in the Valley Forge area, Carter County deputies reported.

Timothy Waycaster, 56, was reported missing on Saturday night around 10:00 p.m. after a 9-1-1 caller alerted authorities that he had not returned from an ATV ride. Carter County Sheriff Mike Fraley said in a statement that Waycaster's body was found around 1:00 p.m. Sunday on private property off Long Hollow Road.

Evidence at the scene suggests that Waycaster was involved in an ATV accident, according to the sheriff's office. CCSO investigators are continuing their examination of the incident.

No further details have been released at this time.
