SEDRO-WOOLLEY, WASHINGTON A serious collision on State Route 20 at Fruitdale Road this morning resulted in injuries to two people and significant damage to both vehicles involved. The Washington State Patrol reported the incident occurred around 10:10 a.m., when a westbound vehicle veered into oncoming traffic, leading to a side-swipe collision.

According to authorities, the westbound vehicle, a 2004 Honda Element SUV, crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a 2017 Harley-Davidson FLTRXS motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction. The impact caused the SUV to come to a stop on the westbound shoulder, while the motorcycle ended up on the eastbound shoulder.

    Involved Parties:

    • Driver of the SUV: An 18-year-old male from Sedro-Woolley, WA, who was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the collision.
    • Driver of the Motorcycle: A 55-year-old male from Renton, WA. He was injured and transported to Skagit Valley Hospital. He was wearing a compliant helmet.
    • Passenger on the Motorcycle: A 50-year-old female from Renton, WA. She also sustained injuries and was taken to Skagit Valley Hospital. She, too, was wearing a compliant helmet.

Initial investigations suggest that drugs or alcohol may have played a role in the crash. The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and are considered reportable by authorities.

The Washington State Patrol continues to investigate the incident, and additional details are expected as the situation develops. This incident was first reported by Bellingham Metro News.

Send the 18 year old to prison. Get serious about impaired driving. To those who would say “he’s just a kid”, he’s a young adult who, one, should not even be imbibing in drugs or alcohol, and two, he injured and could have killed two people. He needs to be punished severely and that includes time in prison with some really bad people who will be in his nightmares for the rest of his worthless life.
