Known for his signature Panama hat, kazoo, and infectious optimism, Amos built a cookie empire that began with the opening of his first bakery on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles in 1975. The bite-sized chocolate chip cookies he sold, made from a family recipe, quickly became a sensation, drawing the attention of Hollywood celebrities and musicians.

Born in Tallahassee, Florida, Amos had humble beginnings but was driven by a passion for baking and a desire to find joy in his work.
