Repairs To Address Lead Levels In Drinking Water In Thompson SD
The Thompson School District is undertaking a series of repairs to address lead levels in water across 24 of its facilities to bring the district into alignment with new state guidelines for schools, which call for action when testing results show levels of lead at or above 5 parts per billion (ppb). Officials say the district will either install filtration systems in the troublesome fixtures or replace them entirely. The Loveland Reporter Herald reports the district hopes to have all of the work completed by the beginning of the school year. Plumbers have been contracted, but some of the new fixtures have not yet arrived.
