Facebook Rumors: Selinsgrove Speedway Closing. Owner Says No
Following some social media posts that the Selinsgrove Speedway was closing, the Speedway went to social media themselves to set the record straight. The Speedway said on Facebook that “The Speedway is not closed and every person involved with the speedway is committed to it remaining open for a very long time.” They do say racing is on hold due to a manager having surgery, but say events will resume as soon as possible. They add that if you are concerned with the future of the speedway, you can help them “gain partners and marketing opportunities rather than spreading rumors and negativity.” You can read the entire post from Facebook here:
Local woman facing charges after leaving 2 children in vehicle, police report
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A Silver Spring woman is facing charges related to child endangerment stemming from an incident that happened on May 1. Mercedes Vazquez, 24, left her two children in a vehicle alone for an extended period of time at a business, according to a press release from the Upper Allen Township Police Department.

Tomorrow marks National Blood Donation Day, a day to encourage people to give lifesaving blood, the American Red Cross of Greater Pennsylvania announced today. Gov. Josh Shapiro joined all 50 states in declaring Sept. 4 National Blood Donation Day. Dr. Daliah Wachs, who hosts a syndicated radio program on Talk Media Network and is heard on iHeart Radio, enlisted each state governor to promote blood donation for the ninth consecutive year.
