52-Year-Old Man Dies After Striking Cement Pillar on Jackson Street in Hayward
Last Friday, a single-vehicle collision tragically culminated in the death of a 52-year-old man at the intersection of Jackson Street, east of Diadon Drive in Hayward. According to the Hayward Police Department, the man was driving eastbound on Jackson Street around 1:40 p.m. when his vehicle veered off the road and struck a cement pillar. Arriving officers found the driver with major injuries still at the scene.

The unique, hefty piece, weighing 85 to 95 pounds, was spotted at Roosevelt Park in San Jose and successfully returned, though the perpetrators remain unidentified as the investigation continues.
