McGeary Named CSC Academic All-America® Men’s At-Large First Team Selection
AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the Academic All-America Men's At-Large teams on Wednesday afternoon with West Liberty University's men's wrestler, Ty McGeary, earning first team honors. The accolade is his second career Academic All-America selection after he was a second team honoree a year ago, and he brings the overall total to 30 all-time selections for the university in conjunction with the prestigious accolade. West Liberty, along with Frostburg State, are the only two schools in the Mountain East Conference to have a student-athlete earn CSC Academic All-America® status during 2023-24. With three Academic All-Americans during the 2023-24 academic year, the WLU athletic department has also extended their streak to 12 consecutive academic years with an individual being recognized as a CSC Academic All-American®, the longest active streak among MEC institutions.
