Hononegah's flag football team improves to 6-1

FREEPORT, Ill. —Hononegah’s girls flag football team bounced back from a 34-0 loss to Rockford Guilford to edge host Freeport 16-14 on Wednesday.

Hononegah quarterback Addison Hulburt completed 13-of-24 passes for 139 yards and three touchdown passes against the Pretzels.

Ava Schaumburg caught six passes for 91 yards and two touchdowns for the Indians. Irelyn O’Brien caught four passes for 58 yards and a touchdown and Kenzie Miller caught three passes for 20 yards.

On defense, Harper Vanderheyden had four tackles and Natlaie Harris had three to lead the 6-1 Indians. Madeline Kahly broke up two passes and had an interception for 22 yards.
