    PREPS: Hononegah blanks Rockford Boylan in girls tennis

    ROCKFORD — Hononegah’s girls tennis team posted a 5-0 NIC-10 victory over Rockford Boylan on Thursday.

    No. 1 singles player Elle Loch blanked Addyson Montalbano, 6-0, 6-0 and No. 2 Riley Toye defeated Monica Winkelman, 6-2, 6-1.

    In doubles, Hononegah’s No. 1 team of Harper Powell and Lacey Foss defeated Ainsley Bridge and Mary Cyrs, 6-3, 6-1. Katie Hardwick and Emma Tapia won No. 2 over Rissa Donnelli and Katie Trenhaile, 6-1, 6-2 and Tabby McKay and Peyton Wilson edged Miabella Matus and Avery Bridge, 7-5, 6-3.

    • UNION GROVE 7, BELOIT MEMORIAL 0: The host Purple Knights were blanked in Southern Lakes Conference action Thursday.

    Camryn Smith defeated Lisa Ramsden at No. 1, 7-5, 6-2. Lorelei Nelson downed Sophia Ferrera at No. 2, 6-0, 6-0, while Emma Santarelli edged Caitlyn Rochester at No. 3, 6-3, 7-5. Allison Wolf made it a sweep in singles, 6-2, 6-1 over Tre-Anna Metzger.

    In doubles, Sophie Madden and Brooke Spang downed Abby Middleton and Gabi Martinez Delgado at No. 1, 7-5, 6-3. No. 2 Addy Callewaert and Morgan Stewart defeated Mina Alonzo and Faviola Estrada-Castro, 6-3, 7-5 and No. 3 Taylor Borchardt and Samantha Rewolinski knocked off Yadira Mendoza and Ariadna Ruiz Martinez, 6-2, 6-0.

    • JEFFERSON 6, BIG FOOT 1: The Chiefs’ lone victory was by the No. 2 doubles team of Ryann Grunow and Aubri Waswo, who defeated Piper Crabtree and Adellyna Widenfeld, 6-2, 6-1.

    • GIRLS GOLF: RVC MEET: Lakeside Lutheran took first place at Riverside Golf Course with 387 points, followed by Edgerton (401), Jefferson (420), Turner (427), Clinton (44), Evansville (440), East Troy (447) and Delavan-Darien (565).

    Reagan Gebhart of Lakeside Lutheran took medalist honors with a 79. Jill Thompson of Cambridge and Annika Bilau of Jefferson each shot 80.

    Turner’s Portia Segerstrom tied for 15th with a 104 score. Rowan Flagan was at 18 and 106. Clinton’s Baylee Morse finished 19th at 107 and teammate Evelyn Millard was 21st (108). Tying for 25th were Turner’s Lilyana Loera and Emma Staack at 109.
