CARPENTERSVILLE, Ill. — It was closer than their first meeting, but the final result was the same. Hononegah's seventh-seeded girls flag football team downed No. 10 Hampshire, 20-12, in an IHSA regional semifinal Tuesday night at Dundee-Crown High School.

Hononegah (9-1) had knocked off Hampshire in Rockton in a non-conference regular season game 26-2 on Oct. 1. This won was a little more dramatic, but the Indians still came out on top and advance to Thursday's regional final against second-seeded Lake Villa Lakes at Dundee-Crown at 6 p.m.
