COLUMN: Great day for Packers, miserable for Bears fan
What a day Sunday was for the state of Wisconsin. A truly epic win for our Cheeseheads. I can’t be happier about it. It was just the shot in the arm this state and franchise needed. Dame’s big game winner showed exactly why the Bucks made that trade. Wait, what? That’s not the game I’m supposed to talk about? Oh…you want me to talk about the NFL? I mean, sure. I can do that. ...
Beloit College men's basketball snaps losing skid with win over Lake Forest
BELOIT—Beloit College men’s basketball head coach Josh Hinz credited his team with not panicking as it stumbled through a four-game losing streak and maintaining an all-around good mindset. That “we can’t hang our heads” mentality looks to have paid off as the Buccaneers seemed to regain their swagger during their 87-66 win over Lake Forest College on Wednesday night at Flood Arena. “We’ve been talking a lot about getting our...

Rock County Fury edged 1-0 by University School
JANESVILLE — Rock County battled shot for shot against the University School of Milwaukee on Tuesday night, but a Wildcats’ goal early in the third period was just enough to squeeze out a 1-0 non-conference girls hockey victory. One-on-one against Rock County goalie Jillian Traver, Fetherston flicked the puck past Traver’s left shoulder 2 minutes, 37 seconds into the third period. ...

GALESBURG, Ill.—After Knox College’s Loraya Rocha had grabbed the rebound off a missed mid-range shot by teammate Kylee Callahan and hit a jumper from inside the paint as the buzzer sounded, it seemed like just another chapter in a nearly 10 year home-game winning streak for the Prairie Fire over Beloit College. COLUMN: A quarterback to Love, a highlight for the Bucks and the Badgers on a hot streak
Some things I’d rather ponder than tangle with a frigid Monday… JORDAN LOVE MAY NOT be the tactician Bart Star was or the gunslinger Brett Favre was or even the surgeon Aaron Rodgers still is. He may just be Jordan Love and right now, that’s plenty good enough to have a lot of folks around the NFL eating crow. The Green Bay Packers quarterback isn’t perfect, but he doesn’t claim...
