Beloit Sky Carp's matchup with the Lansing Lugnuts canceled

Beloit Senior Legion Bandits leave too many on in 9-4 loss to Janesville
BELOIT — The Beloit Senior Legion Bandits were reminded the hard way on Wednesday that consistency is a big factor in winning baseball games. After the Bandits opened up the night with a four-run first inning, Beloit just couldn’t find enough stability throughout its lineup to plate another run. And when Janesville Post 205 poured on eight runs in the fourth inning, the Bandits squandered any opportunity that arose through...

Beloit Senior Legion Bandits showing fight after dropping two tough games in Janesville tournament
BELOIT — Beloit Senior Legion manager Brad Farrell admitted before the season that finding a way to overcome the loss of 13 players from last season’s squad was going to be a daunting task. This season’s Bandits made sure to let everyone know that they are well prepared to tackle that duty head on, even if it means some growing pains along the way, as Beloit was competitive in a pair of games in Saturday’s opening weekend tournament in Janesville but ultimately fell 9-8 to...

DAVENPORT, Iowa — The Beloit Sky Carp came out swinging after a lengthy weather delay Thursday night and teed off against a River Bandits starter making his first start in High A baseball. Beloit to honor former big leaguer Jerry Kenney
Jerry Kenney is a lot of things, but a complainer sure isn’t one of them. No one would blame him for being miffed that his professional baseball career came along a few decades before multi-million dollar salaries were commonplace. Or he may be angry that many fellow Beloiters are unaware he ranks among the best all-around athletes this city has ever produced. ...
