Ripon College routs visiting Beloit College in women's basketball 88-41

RIPON, Wis. — Beloit College women’s basketball team shot just 21.7 percent from the field and committed 22 turnovers in losing decisively to host Ripon College 88-41 on Wednesday night.

The Red Hawks, who lead the Midwest Conference with an 11-0 record (14-6 overall), jumped out to a 27-8 lead in the first quarter. They were ahead 43-17 at halftime.

Beloit (7-13, 5-7 MWC) did not have a scorer in double figures. Only three Buccaneers scored over five points, Elizabeth Kalk ed with eight points, two steals and one rebound. Hannah Welte scored seven points, recorded three steals, two rebounds and two assists. Freshman Kaelie Moreno scored a career-high seven points in nine minutes of action off the bench.

The Bucs return to Flood Arena on Saturday to face the Cornell Rams at 3 p.m.
