BELOIT — Beloit Turner’s wrestling program hosted something head coach Matt Ries expects will become commonplace at some point in the not-too-distant future.

On Feb. 8, the Trojans held their first all-girls triple dual featuring their own squad as well as teams from Muskego and Whitewater.

“I think you’ll see more and more girls wrestling and you’re going to see more all-girl teams in the future,” Ries said.

Both matches were competitive for the Turner girls. The Trojans defeated Muskego 34-30 and tied Whitewater 30-30. The Trojans forfeited at only four of the 12 weight divisions.

Last season’s state qualifier, Sydney Andrews, led the Trojans with a pair of wins at 145 pounds. She posted a 10-1 major decision over Muskego’s Tessa Felter and pinned Myialynn Cobbs of Whitewater in 2:48.

Turner had three other wrestlers go 2-0. The Trojans’ Maddy Lucero at 120 pinned Muskego’s Alayna Gallenberg in 1:07 and

Turner 165-pounder Haleigh Winke pinned Muskego’s Brooke Shelley in 3:16 and collected a forfeit against Whitewater. Kamya Robison at 107 pinned Whitewater’s Silvia Harris in 1:10 and also picked up a forfeit against Muskego.

Turner’s Aubrey Hollis pinned Giulia Ristagno in 2:29 at 120, but split her matches as she was pinned by Muskego’s Alayna Gallenberg in 2:44.

The Trojans’ Camera Fulk (100) and Mei Lin Yurkew (132) went 1-1 with forfeit wins against Muskego.
