    Westosha Central snaps Beloit Memorial's boys basketball's teams win-streak

    SALEM, Wis. — Beloit Memorial’s boys basketball team had its six-game winning streak snapped Monday night with a 59-54 loss at Westosha Central.

    The Purple Knights (18-5 overall) slipped to 9-4 in the Southern Lakes Conference and into fourth place. They finish up SLC play on Wednesday at Union Grove.

    Beloit trailed Westosha Central 25-17 at halftime, but battled back to tie the game at 37-37. The game was close throughout, but the Falcons pulled out the victory as Elijah Griffin tallied 27 points.

    The Knights were led by Amare Hereford’s 24 points. Diego Perez and Jyrell Cousins each scored nine and Brock Hodges had eight.
