    Beloit College's Liz Kalk, Hannah Welte earn All-MWC women's basketball Second Team

    BELOIT — Beloit College seniors Liz Kalk and Hannah Welte both earned Second Team honors on the 2023-24 All-Midwest Conference women’s basketball team.

    Kalk led the Buccaneers with a 12.8-point scoring average and 6.5 rebounds while Welte averaged 12.5 points and 5.3 rebounds.

    Kalk, a 5-foot-10 guard, earned a spot on the Second Team for the third straight season. She and 5-3 Welte, also from Clinton, helped the Bucs finished 8-8 in the MWC and 11-14 overall.

    Junior Ella Ten Pas of MWC champion Ripon leads the First Team, which includes Illinois College first-year senior Kendra Bass, Knox sophomore Kylee Callahan, Grinnell senior Erin Lillis, Cornell senior Kali March and Knox freshman Bria Medina.

    Joining Kalk and Welte on the Second Team are Lawrence freshman Charlotte Brennan, Lawrence junior Maggie Culver, Ripon senior Bonnie Jensen and Illinois College senior Ashlyn Wightman.

    Ripon’s Lauren Busalacchi is Coach of the Year. Medina is the Newcomer of the Year and Monmouth earned the Team Sportsmanship Award.
