    Beloit Turner's Sydney Andrews saluted by Rock Valley Conference

    BELOIT — While the Rock Valley Conference did not select a girls wrestling team, Beloit Turner’s Sydney Andrews was selected as the Female Wrestler of the Year in the conference.

    Andrews had a terrific junior season at 145 pounds, going 32-3 with 44 takedowns and 20 pins. She won a sectional title and was second in the WIAA Girls State Wrestling Championships.

    Turner had one boy selected to the All-RVC team. Tony Hamilton was on the Second Team after finishing runnerup in the RVC Championships at 285.

    Brodhead/Juda placed a pair of wrestlers on the First Team, Marcus McIntyre (138) and Joe Lohmar (150), who both were state qualifiers.

    Big Foot/Williams Bay placed Carter Ries (157) and Will Wojcik (175) on the Second Team. Clinton’s D’Angelo Vernon was Third Team at 132.
