    Beloit Memorial's boys, girls seventh in SLC Track & Field Championships

    BURLINGTON, Wis. — Junior Dontavious Olson took first place in the 300-meter hurdles in a personal-best 42.08 seconds to lead Beloit Memorial’s performances at the 2004 Southern Lakes Conference Track & Field Championships at Burlington High School on Tuesday.

    The Purple Knights juniors had a strong night in the weight events. Tucker Sherrod finished third with a PR of 148-feet, 10 inches. He edged out teammate Jaedyn Coleman, who was fourth with a PR of 148-03. Teammate Dillon Larson-Amato also earned team points with an eighth-place finish and a PR of 121-07. Beloit earned 11 points in the event.

    Coleman also collected a third place in the shot put with a PR of 51-09.

    Beloit’s 4x200m relay took fourth with a time of 1:36.80. That quartet consisted of Tevin Anderson, Brian Cunningan-Little, Dontavious Olson, and Caiden Price. Olson, Price, Cunnigan-Little and Vinson Reed finished seventh in the 4x100 in 47.99 seconds..

    Several Knights had PR performances in the meet. Sophomore Vinson Reed set a PR in the 100 with a time of 11.81 seconds and senior Brayden Bye set a PR in the 1600 with a time of 5:36.40. Freshman Sean Levy set a PR in the 800 (2:29.76).

    Tevin Anderson set a PR in the 200 (24.73).

    For the girls, senior Jaslyn Gama scored in two events in the girls meet. She was third in the 400 in 1:02.01 and she was third in the 300 hurdles in a personal-best 49.59.

    Junior Audrey Mills-Brown set a PR in the 200 (27.60). Senior Jadyn Gibson set a PR in the shot put (26-02) Senior Norah Saladar also set a PR in the shot put (25-03) and also a PR in the discus (76-00) Senior Anna Friedl set a PR in the discus (50-11).

    Beloit Memorial’s boys and girls track teams both finished seventh in the eight-team meet.

    Union Grove won the girls meet with 148.20 points while Waterford Union was runnerup with 133.25. Elkhorn finished third with 126.20 points, followed by Badger (106.45), Westosha Central (79.20), Burlington (65.5), Beloit (12) and Wilmot (9.20).

    Waterford won the boys meet with 171.5 points with Elkhorn second with 160.5. Badger was next with 104.5, followed by Burlington (75), Westosha Central (73.5),Wilmot (47), Beloit (34) and Union Grove.(23).
