    Beloit Turner's Elijah Terrell has stellar regional on home track

    BELOIT — Senior Elijah Terrell enjoyed a strong meet on his home track Monday and Brodhead/Juda’s girls were all business as well in the WIAA Division 2 Turner Regional.

    Terrell won the triple jump with a leap of 45-feet, 2 inches and the long jump with a 21-04.75 effort. He was second in the 200 meters in 22.16 seconds and took third in the 100 (11.14).

    While Terrell’s day was the main highlight for the Turner boys, who finished eighth with 52 points, Brodhead/Juda’s girls used a balanced effort to make Madison Edgewood work for the girls championship. The Crusaders finished with 139 points while the Cardinals were runnerup with 120.

    Seniors Addison Yates and Kalena Riemer and junior Stella Arn led Brodhead/Juda’s efforts. Yates was first in the high jump (5-feet, 2 inches), second in the long jump (16-06) and third in the 100 hurdles (15.88). Riemer won the 400 (59.04) as well as the 800 (2:27.01).

    Arn won the 100 in a time of 12.34 seconds, the 200 in 25.83 and ran a leg of the first-place 4x100 relay along with Brenley Jones, Elliana Shank and Yates (50.70).

    The Cardinals picked up a second in the high jump from Madi Brown (5-feet). Onni Williams was third in the shot put (37-03) and fourth in the discus (107.03). They also got a fifth from the 4x400 relay team of Brown, Olivia Hartwig, Eliana Shank and Kennedy Lerch (4:26.08).

    Brodhead/Juda’s boys finished fourth with 86.50 points.

    The Cardinals picked up first places from senior Gavin Pinnow in the high jump (6-2) and senior Blake Matthys in the shot put (51-02). Simon Moore gave them a second in the pole vault (11-00), Gavin Pinnow was second in the 800 (2:00.27) and the 4x100 team of Grayson Arn, Cohen Henze, Woodward and Gunner Boegli was second in 44.82.

    Brodhead/Juda senior Nathan Engen was third in the 300 hurdles (42.85) and the long jump (20-02.50), the 4x400 team of Engen, Marcus McIntyre, Pinnow and Eric Woodard capped off the meet with a third place finish in 3:33.45.

    The Cardinals’ Jorge Villalva was fourth in the 400 (54.84).Boegli was fifth in the 100 (11.31) and the 4x800 team of Anton Pfeifer, Blake Adkins, Gauge Jorgenson and Simon Moore was fifth in 9:41.0..

    Turner collected a second in the discus from senior Colby Lengjak (130-08).

    For the Turner girls, Navana Terrell was second in the shot put (37-05.25), Caitlin Wirth was second in the 1600 (5:44.07) and Cherish Smith took third in the triple jump (33-05). The Trojans’ 4x200 team of Smith, Ashiya House, Brijit Mosher and Harmony Moore-Ewing was fourth in 1:50.57. The 4x100 team of Ava Coldren, House, Olivia Moore and Moore-Ewing was fourth in 53.56.

    Bronwyn Sherlund was fourth in the 300 hurdles for the Trojans in 50.41, Smith was fourth in the 200 (27.13) and Wirth was fourth in the 3200 (12:31.01).

    In the girls standings, Edgewood (139) was followed by Brodhead/Juda (120), McFarland (115), Monroe (84), Turner (71), Edgerton (69), Belleville/New Glarus (50) and Evansville (47).

    Monroe won the boys title with 126 points, followed by McFarland (116.5), Belleville/New Glarus (102), Brodhead/Juda (86.5), Madison Edgewood (76), Evansville (72), Edgerton (62) and Turner (52).
