Next up for Beloit Memorial’s talented duo of junior Jaedyn Coleman and senior Jaslyn Gama will be the WIAA Division 1 Beaver Dam Track and Field Sectional on Thursday.
Both Purple Knights will compete in a pair of events. Coleman will throw the shot and discus after winning the shot in the Stoughton Regional on Tuesday (51-feet, 1-inch) and taking fourth in the discus (142-6).
Gama finished third in the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 1:01.09 and she was runnerup in the 300 hurdles (49.75).
The Beloit girls’ 4x100-meter relay team also qualified for sectionals by finishing fourth in 53.95 seconds. That team consisted of Naima Brooks, Kori Burnett, Audrey Mills-Brown and Antonia Mance. Laila Lee and Essence Coleman, battling a hip injury, will be the alternates at the sectional.
