Next up for Beloit Memorial’s talented duo of junior Jaedyn Coleman and senior Jaslyn Gama will be the WIAA Division 1 Beaver Dam Track and Field Sectional on Thursday.

Both Purple Knights will compete in a pair of events. Coleman will throw the shot and discus after winning the shot in the Stoughton Regional on Tuesday (51-feet, 1-inch) and taking fourth in the discus (142-6).

Gama finished third in the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 1:01.09 and she was runnerup in the 300 hurdles (49.75).

The Beloit girls’ 4x100-meter relay team also qualified for sectionals by finishing fourth in 53.95 seconds. That team consisted of Naima Brooks, Kori Burnett, Audrey Mills-Brown and Antonia Mance. Laila Lee and Essence Coleman, battling a hip injury, will be the alternates at the sectional.

While the Knights finished eighth in both the boys and girls divisions, they did post several personal records. Those included:

In the 100, Beloit freshman Brooks and junior Lee had PRs in 13.79 and 14.69, respectively.

Senior Aiden Donovan had a PR in the 400 (56.96).

Sophomore Jennifer Martinez-Giles, coming off an injury that cost her most of her season, had a PR of 3:20.19 in the 800.

Senior Jadyn Gibson had a PR of 58-06 in the discus.

Senior Norah Saladar had a PR of 26-05.50 in the shot put.

In the boys 1600, freshman Sean Leavy had a PR of 5:16.07 and senior Brayden Bye had a PR of 5:23.74.

Junior Duke Allen had a PR of 30-feet in the triple jump.

    • DIVISION 2: Sectional qualifiers from Beloit Turner, Brodhead/Juda and Clinton will compete in the Portage Sectional on Thursday.

Clinton qualifiers head to Walworth where Big Foot is hosting a sectional Thursday.

    • DIVISION 3: Parkview’s qualifiers advance to the Horicon Sectional on Thursday.
