BELOIT — The American Baseball Coaches Association recently selected Beloit College sophomore center fielder Jack Alport to its Division III All-Defensive Region Team.

The ABCA selects All-Defensive teams for 10 regions. The teams are voted on by members of the ABCA and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division III All-America and Coach of the Year Committee.

Alport landed on the list for the first time in his career. He completed the 2024 season with a perfect 1.000 field percentage with 129 chances and 128 putouts. Over his two-year career, Alport carries a .996 fielding percentage with just one career error.

The Arlington Heights, Ill., native also had a stellar year at the plate, batting .347 (58-167) with 13 doubles, five home runs, 44 runs scored, 36 RBIs and 14 stolen bases.

Earlier, fifth-year senior Brett Kiger had been named to the ABCA and Rawlings Fourth Team All-American honors at the DH position.

This season, Kiger finished top three in batting average, runs and triples. He led the team in OPS with 1.232, homers with 18, RBI with 55, total bases with 116 and had a slugging percentage of .768.

He claimed the top spot in the Beloit College Baseball record book and Midwest Conference record book for career homers with 46. He broke his own single season homer record by smashing 18 in 2024.
