Children decorate their bike wheels before the 4th Beloit Bike Parade

BELOIT, Wis. (WTVO) — Tons of Stateline kids enjoyed Beloit’s Bike Parade this morning.

Children let their creativity go wild while decorating the wheels of their bikes. All decorations and supplies were provided by the City of Beloit.

This was the 4th year for the event. The event provided a new way for parents to have fun with their kids on the 4th of July.

“It gives people a reason to get out of the house – outside of the fireworks. Most people are probably barbecuing and doing those types of things,” said City of Beloit Recreation Coordinator Robert Douglas. “So just having the opportunity to get outside of the house, maybe even see what their kids can do, you know, engaging with their kids in another aspect other than going to the park.”

Awards were given out at the end of the parade to the most creative bikes.
