BELOIT —All eyes were on Taytum Oswald of Beloit Monday as she tried to advance again in the Drive, Chip & Putt competition at the Beloit Club after finishing third in the nation in her 10-11 age group last April.

Turns out she only needed to show up because there were only two competitors in her 12-13 age group this time out. Both Taytum with a 91 score and Olivia Palma of Janesville (43) advanced.

Oswald was a sixth grader at Parkview Junior High last year when she advanced to the national finals at Augusta National Golf Club the week of The Masters.

There were over 60 other junior golfers trying to advance along with her.

In the boys 7-9 age division, the three qualifiers were Ansel Marsden of Cambridge, Wis., with a score of 75, Cole Jones of Beloit (70) and Grant Coffey of Janesville (64). The alternates are Brady Shaw of Madison and Finn Bolin of Roscoe.

In the girls 7-9 division, Dylan Ralston of Rockton (54), Tennley Streit of Marengo, Ill., (38) and Jovie Pero of Cambridge (38) were the qualifiers. The alternates are Scarlett Marquette of Beloit and Evelyn Gams of Janesville.

The boys 10-11 qualifiers were Weston Getulski of Kenosha (84), Robert “Kai” Pero of Cambridge (73) and Crosby Ralston of Rockton (70). Kam Waite of Beloit and Lukas Nerland of Lake Geneva are the alternates.

The girls 10-11 qualifiers were Alexa Schmitt of Janesville (73), Grace Radean of South Beloit (60) and Sloane Marquette of Beloit (58). Riley Klett of Beloit and Tinley Kelsey of Beloit are the alternates.

Qualifying for the boys 12-13 were Jacob Dolkiewicz of Franklin, Wis. (117), Hunter Blomgren of Kenosha (111) and Landon Moore of Caledonia, Ill. Cameron Nevara of Belvidere and Troy Klein of Stoughton are the alternates.

The boys 14-15 qualifiers were Ledius Felipe of Poplar Grove (158), Johnny Urlakis of Fontana (131) and Chase Garden of Carpentersville, Ill. (115). The alternates are Luke Lenick of Poplar Grove and Evan Landers of Ottawa, Ill.

Qualifiers advance to a sub-regional qualifying tournament Aug. 20 at The Legend at Bergamont in Oregon, Wis.
