Merrill Community Center discontinuing all programs

BELOIT, Wis. -- Community Action, Inc. of Rock and Walworth Counties announced Tuesday it will no longer provide afterschool and summer programming for youth and regular programming for area seniors at the Merrill Community Center.

After assessing services, CAI said it made the decision to discontinue its youth and senior programs so that the facility can be utilized by its other programs. The decision was made based on several factors, including program availability though community partners. The facility will continue to support the Merrill neighborhood and the City of Beloit.

CAI said it will work closely with local families and community partners to ensure that those who rely on Merrill Community Center for programming have access to healthy alternatives.
