Kayak rentals now available in downtown Beloit

BELOIT, Wis. -- Looking for summertime fun in Beloit? Well kayak rental are coming to an area near you.

Starting Thursday, watercraft rentals will be accessible at the Rotary River Center docks and the John Rose Cane & Kayak launch in the Chester Square public parking lot at 534 Fourth St.

People looking to use kayaks and watercraft will be able to rent the boats, lifejackets, and paddles at the self-serve kiosk. Paddlers will need to return the items to the kiosk on their own.

The Surf Shack requires individuals to be 18 years old or older to rent the kayaks. Individuals younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Here are the following rates for a single/tandem kayak

• Single kayaks: $12/first hour; $9/additional hours.
• Tandem kayaks: $17/first hour;$12/additional hours.

The kayak rentals are available to rent starting at sunrise through one hour before sunset. All rentals must be returned by sunset.
