KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported a four-person arrest following a drug investigation Friday morning in Belton, Missouri. However, while searching the home, deputies made quite the odd discovery.
According to law enforcement, around 11 a.m. Friday, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Unit served a search warrant at a house near Hamilton Lane and West South Avenue.
Upon investigation, deputies seized several items, including suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and money.
However, the more shocking discovery was perhaps a living baby deer inside the home.
The fawn, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, was found inside and later recovered by the Missouri Department of Conservation following the investigation.
Law enforcement said two people were taken into custody on felony warrants: 39-year-old Christopher McGolgin, and 42-year-old Hannah Graham. Both are from Belton.
McGolgin was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The bonds for each of his charges are $4,000 and both felony warrants were issued out of Cass County.
Graham faces charges of Felony Parole Violation through the State of Kansas with no bond allowed.
In addition to the two arrests, another man and woman were taken into custody pending felony charges.
All four suspects are being held at the Cass County Jail.
The identities of the other two suspects have not been revealed, and no details have been released regarding the health and safety of the fawn. However, stay tuned at FOX4 for the latest updates and information on this developing story.
