A weekend standoff in the Upstate involving a barricaded and armed suspect, luckily ended peacefully. The Belton Police Department, Anderson County Sheriff's Office and other agencies responded Sunday evening to a home on Pelzer Street in Belton.

The Sheriff's Office says 52 year old Tommy Dwayne Brown had called 911 over 50 times without having an emergency. As authorities arrived, Brown barricaded himself inside the home, as he allegedly set it on fire.

Deputies were able to talk Brown into a peaceful surrender. Brown is charged with misuse of 911 and arson. The Sheriff's Office says Brown has a history of making threats towards law enforcement.
