There have been concerns about possible changes to the dress code in Lauderdale County and surrounding districts. According to representatives from the school districts, the dress code itself hasn’t changed, but campus officials are being urged to increase enforcement of the dress code throughout the year.

Mendenhall Man Pleads Guilty to Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm
A Mendenhall man pled guilty today to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. According to court documents, 39-year-old Koda Tye Williamson, a convicted felon, was found in possession of a firearm by the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department during the execution of a search warrant on his home for narcotics distribution and illegal firearms possession. It is a violation of federal law for a convicted felon to possess a firearm. Williamson has previous felony convictions for manslaughter and methamphetamine possession.
Injured jockey goes home, GoFundMe established
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - A jockey who suffered injuries Sunday in an accident at the Neshoba County Fair has been able to go home. Jordan Goss suffered a fractured back, broken nose and numerous lacerations when his horse ran off the track. His family said he faces a long road of healing and rehabilitation, but they are thankful his injuries were not more severe.
